NO SUCH HIGH TECH EFFECT DURING THE ‘60S
For comparison’s sake, we looked at manufacturing production without output in high tech industries for the 1960s expansion as well. Unfortunately, the separate data sets we need only go back to 1967, but during this period, at least, growth in high tech hardware had almost no effect on manufacturing output. Indeed, output in these sectors was negligible.
